Application:
Ductile iron pipe has extensive applications. It is widely used in water supply and drainage systems. In municipal water supply projects, it can reliably transport clean water over long distances with its good corrosion resistance and high strength, ensuring the stable supply of urban water. In sewage treatment and drainage systems, it can withstand the erosion of sewage and various chemicals. Also, in some industrial water supply and drainage scenarios, such as in factories and mines, it plays an important role in transporting industrial water and waste water, providing a durable and efficient piping solution.
Product features:
1. Excellent mechanical properties
High strength: Ductile iron pipe has relatively high tensile strength and compressive strength. Its tensile strength can reach more than 420MPa, which is significantly improved compared to ordinary cast iron pipes. This enables ductile iron pipes to withstand high internal pressures, and in pipeline systems such as water supply and drainage, can effectively transport liquids without causing pipeline rupture due to excessive pressure. For example, in urban water supply systems, tap water can be delivered stably to meet the water pressure needs of high-rise buildings.
Good toughness: Ductile iron pipes have good toughness because the graphite in ductile iron is spherical. This kind of spherical graphite has less splitting effect on the matrix, so that when the material is impacted or vibrated, it can absorb energy without breaking easily. Compared with traditional gray cast iron pipes, ductile iron pipes are less prone to brittle cracking in environments such as winter where temperatures are low and pipes are susceptible to frost heaving, improving the reliability of the pipeline system.
2. Strong corrosion resistance
Ductile iron pipes have good corrosion resistance, and their surface can be further enhanced by a variety of anti-corrosion treatments. For example, applying anti-corrosion coatings such as epoxy resin on the surface of the pipe body can effectively isolate the pipe from corrosive components in soil, water and other media. In buried municipal water supply and drainage pipeline systems, ductile iron pipes can resist the corrosion of pipelines by acid and alkali components in the soil and dissolved oxygen in the water. They have a long service life, generally up to 50-70 years, reducing frequent replacement. Plumbing trouble.
3. Easy to install
Flexible and effective interface forms: The interface methods of ductile iron pipes mainly include T-type interface and K-type interface. The T-shaped interface is sealed with a rubber sealing ring. This kind of interface is simple and quick to install. You only need to insert the pipe into the socket and use the elasticity and sealing performance of the rubber ring to achieve a good sealing effect. Moreover, the rubber sealing ring can adapt to a certain degree of pipeline displacement and deformation, and can still ensure the sealing of the pipeline system under conditions such as foundation settlement.
Moderate weight for easy handling:The weight of ductile iron pipes is relatively reasonable. It is neither too heavy like steel pipes and requires large hoisting equipment for installation, nor is it too light to affect its stability. Under normal circumstances, the transportation and on-site installation of pipelines can be completed by small cranes or manual labor with simple tools, reducing installation costs and construction difficulty.
4. Good hydraulic performance
The inner wall of ductile iron pipe is relatively smooth and its roughness coefficient is low, generally between 0.01 and 0.013. This smooth inner wall can reduce the resistance of water flow in the pipe and increase the flow rate of water. In water supply and drainage systems, efficient liquid transportation can be achieved and energy losses can be reduced. For example, in long-distance water pipelines, the use of ductile iron pipes can reduce the number of pumping stations and save energy and construction costs.
5. High reliability and long service life
Combining the many advantages of ductile iron pipes such as mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and hydraulic properties, it has high reliability. Under normal use conditions, ductile iron pipes can operate stably for many years with few problems such as leakage and rupture. Its long service life reduces the frequency of maintenance and updates of the pipeline system, which in the long run reduces the overall cost of the entire pipeline project.
